Gold Bering Sea Mining Company is pleased to announce the purchase of the 120-foot landing craft DAGNY GALT (ex: DEVON). This 1466-class LCU was originally known at US ARMY LCU-1573 and served in the Korean War.
The vessel has since been upgraded with more modern engines, new 1/2-inch bottom plating, and a larger house with four staterooms.
The cargo deck of the DAGNY GALT is approximately 53-feet by 28-feet with a 180 ton capacity.
DAGNY GALT will be used to expand GBSMC’s gold mining operations in the nearshore waters of the Bering Sea in the vicinity of Nome, Alaska.
The vessel is currently in Seward, Alaska and will travel to Nome, Alaska in May 2022 for the start of the gold mining season June 1, or after the sea ice clears from Norton Sound.
